What a day, what a day. It got cold after it got dark. Kurt hung a thermometer in the tree and we watched the temperature drop to --5 Celsius before long. Fire and dinner were lovely. Especially the fire and dinner part. We were huddled in the tent by 8:00 p.m. and dressed in our sleepwear. Mike wore a one-piece drop-seat number, while I chose a wicking layer, and a fleece layer, double-double on the everything. We played the World Championship game of Count-down Crazy 8's. It got quite cut-throat when nearing the end, Kurt pulled ahead, but somehow it was anyone's game due to the ridiculous rules that had somehow enabled repeated occurrences of "Pick up 16, you bastard!"
Nevertheless, Kurt walked away with the Belt. I hope it was HEAVY.
Hahahaha…. Wait til next time, says Zhar.

After pancakes and other yum, we packed up camp and hiked sans backpacks to the Lookout, the tallest point in Algonquin (or so the Ojibwe would have you believe). Here's some pics from there:

Coming soon, to a Christmas card near you…

Gators are HARD CORE.
(This has to be the worst picture of me EVER!!!)
